The nights are getting longer and colder again, the smell of freshly baked cookies fills the living room β the Advent season is just around the corner. And what should never be missing? An Advent calendar that shortens the wait for Christmas with small surprises! Especially in uncertain times it is lovely to bring a daily smile to the team. In this post I show you how to embed our virtual Advent calendar right inside Microsoft Teams.
You have not met our Advent calendar yet? Then take a look at our blog series where we introduce the Smarter Advent Calendar.
Embed the Smarter Advent Calendar in Microsoft Teams
Many companies β maybe yours as well β have switched to Microsoft Teams for collaboration. Others have rolled it out across the organisation. That shift can sometimes slow down user adoption at first. An Advent calendar in Microsoft Teams is the perfect antidote because it spreads joy while encouraging people to explore the digital workplace.
How does the embedding work?
It really is as simple as promised and takes less than two minutes.
- Add our Advent calendar web part to a SharePoint page and publish it. In our example that page is Adventkalender.aspx. Tip: copy the page URL so you can paste it later.
- Open Microsoft Teams, pick the channel where you want to place the calendar and add a new tab.
- Choose SharePoint as the tab type. If you do not see the Advent calendar in the list, click Add a page from any SharePoint site.
- Paste the URL of the SharePoint page that hosts the web part and confirm with Save.
And that is it β the Smarter Advent Calendar is now embedded in Microsoft Teams and ready for your colleagues to open the first door!
