We have already given you several insights into our application Management 4 SharePoint. In this blog post, we would like to introduce you to our latest extension for SharePoint user management.

Worksheet for SharePoint user management

We have added a new worksheet in Excel, which can be used for SharePoint user management. There we render all users who are currently in a group or have individual permissions on lists. Again, we represent (just like in the other worksheets for the list permissions) the affiliation to a group in a matrix.

SharePoint User Management: User Matrix

For each user we add a row and we map the SharePoint groups in the columns. If the respective user is a member of a group, we render an “X” in the corresponding Excel cell. This gives you a good overview of which user is in which groups. If you enter an “X” in a cell, the user is immediately added to the respective group. In addition, you can easily, by “dragging” the Excel cell, add the user into several groups. If you remove the value “X” from the cell, we remove the user from the respective group.

Manage individual permissions

Also in this worksheet we have added a separate column for the individual permissions (column D). This allows you to see at first glance which user has individual permissions on lists. If you now select this column for a user, we automatically open the panel for the individual permissions in our Add-In.

SharePoint Benutzerverwaltung: Einzelberechtigungen

Here we then display all individual permissions of the user on lists from all webs. One or all individual permissions can then be deleted.

User tab for user information

If you select a user in the first column, we open the new user tab in our Add-In.

SharePoint Benutzerverwaltung: Benutzer Tab

Here we display the user information such as name, login name and e-mail address. In addition, all groups in which the selected user is a member are displayed in a list. Furthermore, there is the new functionality “Transfer all roles to another user”. This makes it easy to add another user into exactly the same groups as the selected user.
