In this article, I’ll show you how the new SharePoint Feedback workflow is integrated into our Document Management System (DMS). This is an extension to our document management system for SharePoint documents.
How the SharePoint Feedback Workflow Works
In addition to the well-known features, view information, edit information and view workflow, we have implemented a new function to give feedback. This allows the user to comment on and view comments on a document.
Depending on which library you are in, you get a different representation.
If you are in the editing library, we will display all comments on all versions. These are always clearly grouped according to the version.
This ensures that reviewers can access all comments. Ordinary users, on the other hand, can only view the latest comments of the current version.
In contrast, a user who has access to the DMS can comment in any view. We save the comments in a separate SharePoint list. Administrators can manage them and can edit or remove comments.
